Traversing Tokyo

Just past over two months landing in Japan and I have finally forced my hands to move and write a blog post! Despite this, no amount of words would ever be able to describe my time or experience here.

So what had made me so eager for Japan of all places? 3 years ago, I had actually gone to Japan for one week with my family. The experience was so moving, that it's made me want to come back, and I've made that my goal ever since, which sounds like the most broken weeaboo record ever. Who knew I would actually get to where I am today, even I'm not sure how this happened!

My first impressions of Japan you ask? Well, as soon as I had landed, I was greeted with the sun closest to my skin than ever before. Yes, It was absolutely scorching, I was too busy staying alive for the experience to even sink in! What are you actually doing over there? I'm teaching English as a second language! My project is located in the heart of Tokyo, Showa Women's University. Despite the name, the campus encompasses a kindergarten to University. Mainly, my work consists of assistant teaching the Elementary school kids 4 times a week, the kindergarten once a week, the after school twice a week. And finally, we teach our own lessons for the University students twice a week. Now then, do you just work 24/7? For the most of it yes! But I use every spare moment I have to explore as much of Japan in the little time I've got. The countdown has been ticking since my feet hit the floor in Japan. My Instagram will show a clearer picture of what goings on in my time in Japan.
